Not only do you remember the words and tune, but you may also remember the person you were and the people you knew at that moment in time that the song was popular. Sharing this experience with new friends or acquaintenance in the present, can create a springboard for new connections and relationships.

At The Music Connection, we bring that music back into the lives of the assisted living community in Northwest Atlanta by offering your residents an opportunity to actually participate in making their favorite music with others. Participants in these music-making sessions are provided a sing-along format and are offered the opportunity to use musical instruments. And, participants can purchase a CD if they’d like to listen to their favorite songs over and over again!

It’s been well proven that enjoying familiar music can sometimes enhance the abilities of people who are elderly or disabled. Familiar music can help to increase or maintain levels of physical, mental, and social/emotional functioning through sensory and intellectual stimulation.
