Eric G and Jody K founded The Music Connection to provide a creative and entertaining music-making service for the assisted living community residents.

People in assisted-living arrangements enjoy The Music Connection because of the extremely therapeutic affects. This time spent with Jody K and Eric G becomes something to look forward to as music is played and residents participate by singing, sharing and/or playing percussion instruments.

About Eric Greenhood, Music Enthusiast

Eric Greenhood is a 23 year old with special music abilities. His love for vocal harmony, especially Peter, Paul, and Mary, was the driving force in the creation of The Music Connection as Eric enjoys singing, playing guitar and sharing vocal harmonies with others.

A kind, loving, and sensitive man with a great sense of humor, Eric has a tremendous desire to share his passion for music with others, particularly with senior adults. This stems from his connection to his grandmother, who is 83 and lives with him and his family. She has mild Alzheimer's and Eric cherishes the time he spends with her daily.

About Jody Kershner M.T.-B.C.

Jody Kershner is a Board Certified Music Therapist with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and a minor in Psychology. She has her own private practice in Music Therapy and has been providing music therapy services since 1980. Jody also founded and led the “Atlanta Area Music Therapy” professional group, which later became the Georgia Chapter of Music Therapists (MTAG).

Jody's practice has included music therapy in private education, assisted living sites, and pre-school settings. Her expertise includes work with individuals and small groups within the autism spectrum, as well as people with physical and mental disabilities. Due to her expertise, Jody has been able to work in the Cobb County Public School System, increasing awareness of music therapy benefits. She also has facilitated professional music therapy training and conference sessions.
